Twinkle Twinkle little star, how I wonder where your are – These are lyrics that so many of us remember. There are so many stars that are eager to shine among the residents of Chicago public housing. Windows of Opportunity is here to provide resources and link the residents to opportunities that will broaden their horizons and increase their options for an improved quality of life.

As we prepare for our 5th annual Night with the Stars - Touching the Spirit Awards, we are focusing on how each person can seize the opportunity for creating positive change and shape the future of our community. Your support of this event will enable us to provide additional educational opportunities for our youth through our scholarship and next steps programs.

As Windows continues to focus on how we can expand our reach and services, we are in the process of expanding our strategic alliances with organizations, individuals, corporations and educational institutions.

We hope that you will join forces with us to “Touch the Spirit” of the youth and help us empower the stars that still twinkle in public housing. 2011 UNITY PICNIC
A PARTY WITH A PURPOSE

Current and former residents of the Hilliard, Ickes, and Dearborn housing developments have gathered for the last 30 years to reconnect with old friends, support community initiatives, and assist Windows of Opportunity with educational support for our youth. Please join us on August 20th at Washington Park for the 2011 Unity Picnic as we celebrate 30 years of uniting with our families. We would like to fuel the spirit of moving the next generation forward and ask that you would make a contribution to Windows of Opportunity scholarship fund. This fund continues to support public housing youth as they enter college.

All proceeds from this event and your financial donations will support the youth Scholarship fund of Windows of Opportunity
